The Liberals picked up three seats Monday night, the party’s second byelection hat trick this year.
Tanveer Shahnawaz won in the Toronto riding of Beaches-East York while out in B.C., Braeden Caley picked up the win in North Vancouver-Capilano. Both seats were considered safe Liberal ridings.
The biggest win for the Liberals is in Quebec’s Chicoutimi-Le Fjord. The riding had previously been held by Conservative Richard Martel, who was appointed to the Senate earlier this summer.
There are six more byelections slated to take place in the coming months, which will mean more tests for all the parties.
