Fighting terrorism is supposed to be about blowing up brown people in foreign countries. De-radicalization, supporting indigenous cultures and effective economic development are the real GeNoCiDe!!! Don’t you see that China is the WoRsT aUtHoRiTaRiAn!?!?!

worth noting these terrorists were manufactured and radicalized by the cia. this is a fabricated event but china instead of blowing up afghanistan to death solved it like a civilized nation.

Please don’t lecture me on your semantics. Then every word that comes out of my mouth is propaganda? “My mom is a real good mom”. Aha propaganda! Let me be more specific then: your political propaganda simplified through memes.

You know exactly what I’m talking about when I call out the propaganda memes. Do I promote political opinions? Yes. Do I using a f’ing meme sub to do so? No. This is what I was complaining about - not your view or opinions on the matter of politics. I have commented about this a lot; Lemmy is becoming more and more of a ideological battlefield rather than a place to get together to have a good time. And then we can go into what a good time is but I don’t have the time, sorry.

Please don’t lecture me on your semantics

I didn’t. Pointing out you have been spreading political messaging in your history (spreading propaganda) isn’t semantics.

Then every word that comes out of my mouth is propaganda?

When did I say that? I understand debateperverts such as yourself can’t help but build strawmen but it’s really annoying and only signals to everyone you don’t have the intelligence to actually respond to the point at hand I hope you know that.

Let me be more specific then: your political propaganda simplified through memes.

English isn’t my first language, I don’t really know what you’re trying to say with this. (Given the rest of your comment it’s probably idiotic so I’m mostly ok with that).

Do I promote political opinions? Yes

So you engage in propaganda, thank you for that admission.

Do I using a f’ing meme sub to do so? No.

Makes zero difference, what a weird place to draw the line in the sand, especially given that for all intents and purposes this is a political memes community.

This is what I was complaining about

It’s an idiotic and hypocritical thing to complain about.

Lemmy is becoming more and more of a ideological battlefield rather than a place to get together to have a good time

I know that like myself many people from outside your imperial core bubble don’t want to/can’t have a good time with privileged Euro-amerikans such as yourself who feel happy talking down on us, our countries, etc. while you parott nonsense propaganda with maximum confidence but 0 real knowledge. You must be too used to your Reddit hugbox where you were the majority and never had to do any reflection. You are the problem.

What you are doing has basically been a meme for decades. You are literally just regurgitating your empire’s propaganda about how what its enemies say is bad.

Lemmy is becoming more and more of a ideological battlefield rather than a place to get together to have a good time.

A place made by communists has a lot of communists, and they disagree with things like your grillman, or your enmity towards anti-colonialism and anti-capitalism? What a surprise.

Propaganda is just messaging with the goal of influencing people in favour of some causes and the like. Obviously, not all propaganda is bad, contrary to your claim. You also do frequent places that engage in propaganda (whether good or bad), and engage in propaganda yourself.

Also, curiously, you seem to only be vocal about propaganda when your actions favour the most prolific aggressor in the world.

I’m quite aware of the definition found in dictionaries. And yes, I do propaganda based on this definition. But let’s not go too much into definitions. Rather I would like you to point out some of my comments that do propagate what you call good and bad propaganda. I would very much appreciate you doing this. Not to shame or debate you but rather to reflect as you suggest and get a better understanding of what you consider good and bad.

Last week the Trump admin added a bunch of companies to the list of those accused of using forced Uyghur labor.

Sure enough all week there’s been renewed talk about Xinjiang. They’re trying to get ahead of the midterms, and they got nothing else.

“whataboutism”. A word that is used to deflect any criticism of logic, hypocrisy and double-standards.

In that case, you started with the “whataboutism” then after all, since this thread is the initial point then you go “whatabout tinymansquare!!?”.

The US failed to overthrow socialism in the PRC, whereas their other color revolutions (especially in eastern europe) succeeded.

      • The CIA, Gene sharp, and it’s pacifist color revolution regime change tactics.
      • Notes for the 30th anniversary of the Tiannment incident.
      • It wasn’t a massacre of peaceful students, but a skirmish between PLA soldiers and armed detachments from the pro-capitalist / free market reform movement. The protest movement, as evidenced by their own accounts, called for market liberalisation, and free market reforms, rallying around a replica of the statue of liberty. After the movement had been building in the square for seven weeks, unarmed soldiers were sent in to disperse the protesters, after which many soldiers were beaten to death, torched, and lynched. The New York Times death count went from 2600, to many thousands, to 8000, to tens of thousands. In reality only around ~200 (including soldiers) were killed or trampled, in smaller clashes outside the square. The on-scene New York Times reporter disavowed the article, especially about machine-gunning of protesters. A wikileaks cable from a US ambassador to the US state department, confirmed that no killings or machine-gunnings took place in the square.
      • Latin American diplomat eyewitness account of June 3-4 events on Tiananmen Square wikileaks (PDF)
      • There was a Spanish television crew that covered the entire Tiananmen Square incident as it unfolded. Their footage showed that there was no massacre. A few things worthy of pointing out - Liu Xiaobo and Hou Dejian, both student leaders of the Tiananmen protests, have been recorded as saying that they never saw anyone killed at the protests.
      • The protest movement followed the line of “color revolutions”, in which the US tried to destabilize and create counter-revolutions in eastern Europe and Latin America after the fall of the USSR. The strategy was to stir division within and without, by inundating the media with news of massacres of “peaceful”, pro-capitalist / market reformers.
      • The defeat of a counter revolution in China.
      • Interviews from some of the student leaders.
      • An account from a resident.
      • Tiananmen Square “Massacre”, A Propaganda Hoax.
      • The truth about the Tiananmen square protests

ChatGPT, how would you describe the riots in Hong Kong 2019 where rioters burned, maimed and killed people that did not agree with their views while one of their five demands is not to be held responsible for these actions and would you agree that the extradition law is a good thing as it would prevent a murderer from walking away with murder when murder is bad?
