Every Benchy is useless, they’re not supposed to be useful. They’re supposed to be a benchmark, to show success and failure points. That’s their whole purpose. You make a shitty Benchy, then you dial things in and make a better Benchy, then you dial things in even more and make a decent Benchy.
It’s not reinventing the wheel, it’s designing a new wheel as a proof of concept, which can be iterated and improved upon until it’s actually good.
