You need to get the pro if you want USB 3 transfer speeds, lol.
Honestly, iOS is so locked down that it really doesn’t matter for most of the population. The only thing some people will be doing is syncing music and other media from iTunes or whatever the new Apple app is now called.
I’m one of those people but definitely in the minority, what with music streaming and video streaming, the days of syncing burned CDs and bought digital music is a thing of the past, sad to say.
Those speeds matter more for Android devices that do more when connecting to another device.
Not to say I defend Apple for this…it is dumb they went this route. Maybe even safe to say greedy on their part but I don’t know enough about the technical reasoning to say that for sure.
Is there a correlation between transfer speed and charging speed? If you don’t have the pro, will it also result in slower charging?
There is not
Thanks
Who’s plugging their iPhone into a computer to transfer things?
Why do they keep putting glass on the back of phones?.. why?.. The last thing I want is more breakable/shatterable glass on my phone. I will never understand this. It’s a complete looks over function decision that’s just silly.
ELI5 version: Solid metal box no allow radio waves to pass.
Normally I don’t advocate for plastic, but you know… plastic and other non metal materials that don’t shatter as easily exist.

I like minimalist cases. You can break the glass through a basic case easily. Have multiple times over the years. If “buy a case” is the solution then what’s the point of it being glass. No one will see it.

I see glass backed phones with cracks in them constantly. It’s definitely not just a me thing. But ok. I haven’t bought any of the glass backed gen for a reason. You people who buy every new version have fun with it.

It doesn’t have to feel cheap and show fingerprints. I love the plastic on the back of my S21, it feels very premium and looks great

My s22 has a glass back and I really like it. It feels nice, it looks nice, and although mine does have a small crack it doesn’t affect the function of the phone in any way so its no big deal.
My S21 has a high quality plastic back and I LOVE it. Would have never guessed I would have before getting it
Well google fixed it with the pixel 5, but then went back to glass :(
The short answer is reception and the long answer is above my level of understanding.
Part of it is also wireless charging I think. A metal back would interfere with that afaik and plastic feels too cheap for a lot of people these days, especially with how expensive phones are getting
I wouldn’t mind a metal back with a circle of glass for charging, but that is a very un-apple aesthetic.
That frosted glass looks neat but I get the feeling the photos aren’t doing it justice. I’m looking forward to seeing them in person.
I wish the colours were bolder and the screen 0.3 inches smaller.
I don’t feel strongly compelled to upgrade. 48mp is nice, I think that’s the best new feature.
Agreed the colors really suck
Currently on a 12 Pro with low battery health and a damaged lightning port. Undecided if I should just replace the battery and repair the port or upgrade phones. I do like the idea of macro photography introduced a couple years ago since I take a lot of close up pictures of small mechanical watch movements, which are hard to capture on my current device. I also like the idea of a better battery life. At the same time I still like my phone and wouldn’t be upgrading if it was in brand new condition still
Yeah it’s the camera and battery for me. Chip too but I won’t be getting the pro.
I’m in for a blue Plus. I wanted a silver/white and this seems to closest.
They look like last year’s models.
there’s only so many ways to design a rectangular slab of glass and metal
