I tried the demo of the game when this video came out. Usually I share Civvie’s taste, but this one is a bit too… simple(?) for me.
Anyway, try the demo if you think you might enjoy this.
I bought it and it remains simple. I sort of gave up for lack of an engaging challenge.
IDK why but sometimes something* simple done well just hits right. But it’s entirely on personal taste. I have zero interest in the original Wolf3D and flat maps seem too restrictive to be fun, but I absolutely loved Project Warlock 1. It’s odd. The sequel went for Quake style maps and has not been recieved nearly as well.
I agree. My hope now is that this was a valiant first effort from a dev who will come back with lessons learned and maybe their next game will be a bit more engaging.
