Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!
This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.
It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:
- Something interesting that happened to you
- Something humourous that happened to you
- Something frustrating that happened to you
- A quick question
- A request for recommendations
- Pictures of your pet
- A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
- Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)
So how’s it going?
Random problem I’m having: The Firefox UI randomly freezes until I restart it. I can use a particular tab fine but I can’t close it, click buttons in the UI, etc. It seems the process running the main UI is freezing.
It’s been happening for ages, running under Gnome on Nobara (and I saw the same thing under Bazzite as well).
I’ll eventually go ask in a tech support community but I thought I’d ask here just in case someone knows what’s up :)
@Dave , my guess was cache related, though being the same under other circumstances I’d check the hardware related stuff -
hw acceleration and drivers.

Hardware acceleration is off, I’ve cleared all browser data, running the latest version, system is up to date so should have latest drivers, deleted the favicon/places databases.
The only suggestion left on that link is an add on. I’ve now disabled everything exect uBlock and bitwarden, let’s see if that helps. Not holding my breath though!
Cheers, I have disabled the hardware acceleration, and now I’ll see if that fixes it!
