Rushdie should be more sympathetic to the Palestinians. After all, Hitchens, Maher, and Islamophobes at large have been using him as a human shield for years.

Good! It’s about time those who don’t kiss Netanyahu’s arse get a win. Despite their overwhelming majority Muslims worldwide get bullied and oppressed thanks to the USA and Israeli governments.

I don’t think that’s quite the whole story when supposedly Muslim governments like Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been doing so much to help the US and Israel recently. Powerful people bully less powerful people and try to use whatever the local religion is to justify themselves after the fact.

Salman Rushdie is apparently a pro-Israeli douche, Mecca’s 3 goddesses story is considered historically true, Leftists won’t shut about islamophobia as much as they fought and fight against antisemitism, even though left is mostly secular, What do you know, the world is not as simple and black and white as you think.

That’s a big leap considering the article mentions this is about his position on an ongoing ethnic cleansing and not about his religious views - though I suspect his religious views are colouring how he views the acceptability of crimes against humanity when targeting some groups.

I have very little sympathy for religion in public spaces but I’ve even less for pro-genocide people.
