Just canceled by subscription because, um
DEMOCRACY FUCKING DIES IN FUCKING DARKNESS
thought that shit was a warning, not a business plan.
Silly me.
Consider using the subscription money for another newspaper.
Sure would be a shame if the general public and subscribers of the LA Times and WaPo learned about having only to put 12ft.io/, or archive.is/ in front of paywalled article URLs in order to bypass the paywall very easily…
It was hard to take the WaPo seriously after Bezos bought it. It’s just been a slower decline than Xitter.
If the remaining readers are questioning it, then maybe there’s hope.
“Democracy dies in darkness, but hey, I could really use a microscopic break on this light bill, ya know?”
I subscribed for YEARS and cancelled that shit in 2016. It was obvious they stopped being a legitimate source of news then, but I’m happy people see it now too.
A terrible decision and really disturbing if the board doesn’t have the guts to stand up to the boss.
That said, what’s with these ‘articles’ that are nothing more than gathering screen shots and repeating what people said on Twitter? Do better people, the point of social media is the public can already read that crap for themselves. You’re not investigating or adding value to anything by doing this…
