Everybody that is having an issue with the PS4 Pro pricing obviously aren’t in the market for a gaming PC.

To get the same performance from a gaming PC, you’re spending AT LEAST 3x that amount.

$700 is a steal…

    @BeAware@social.beaware.live assuming you are talking about the PS5 (my ps4 pro is a paperweight now lol) I think what it boils down to is if the buyer cares for 4k or not, because if you are looking to game at 1080 or 1440p, you could most certainly get a respectable rig put together for under $700. Before I upgraded to my current 4090 rig, I had a refurbished Dell Optiplex ($200), and an RTX A2000 ($300), and it crushed every game I threw it’s way at 1080p high settings.

      @pixelworld_ai@aipub.social oops. Typo! 😂

      But yeah…I don’t see why anyone not wanting 4k would buy one…that’s the major selling point now, no?🤨🤷‍♂️

    @BeAware@social.beaware.live Most of the complaining that I’ve seen is that it costs $700, and it doesn’t come with a disk drive or the vertical stand. Those are sold separately at an additional $80 and $30 respectively. So for the folks who have a collection of physical games, there is 0 incentive to upgrade.

    @BeAware@social.beaware.live Yep, cost 2-4 times that (depending on brand and how much of a powerhouse it is) to do an equivalent or better. I believe someone did a video to match series x and the ps5 and it was 1200-1400 or more (it’s been a while). But you could easily drop 2-3k to get a really nice play everything near max for years one.

  • @BeAware@social.beaware.live PS5 pro may not target PS5 owners. There are only 59 million PS5 owners. But over 110 million PS4 owners. Don’t forget that PS5’s production and sales were seriously disrupted by COVID. So, Sony most likely is targeting PS4, NOT PS5 owners, and some PC gamers. As suggested by many gaming sites, PS5 pro is as powerful as RTS 3080 which is like 4070. And a new 4070 PC costs about $1300. I got my Dell 4060 laptop (equivalent to 3070) in July.
