A bomb blast in Tel Aviv late on Sunday has been confirmed as a terrorist attack, Israeli police and the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency said on Monday.

The man carrying the bomb, which exploded near a synagogue, was killed and a passerby was injured, according to police at the scene.

“It can now be confirmed that this was a terror attack,” police and Shin Bet said in a joint statement on Monday.

Sunday’s explosion came about an hour after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv to push for a ceasefire in Gaza that will end the 10-month-old war between Israel and Hamas.

I often wonder why it’s a terrorist attack when bombs go off in Israel, but when Israel bombs Gaza or the West Bank it’s called retaliation.

    Hypocrisy at its finest.

Isn’t this just war? Would be like Russia claiming Ukraines recent attacks into Russia are terrorist attacks….

A bomb on a military target is terrorism if it is an Arab or they are opposed to Israel in any way.

Meanwhile when Israel bombs UN medical workers helping civilians in a place where no combatants are, they are legitimate war targets and not even oopsie…

If it had been a strategic target like a military convoy or supply depot, etc, I would agree with you. In this case, it looks like they were targeting a synagogue.

Then by that logic almost everything Israel has done in Gaza is a terrorist attack.

Israel has been killing hundreds of Palestinians civilians in refugee centers, schools and hospitals for months on the claim that a military target was inside.

Was there any Israel military personnel in that synagogue? By Israels doctrine, any number of civilian infrastructure and casualties are justified to kill any military target.

Just to note that actually, it’s tens of thousands by now. Even during October Israel had already killed many thousands of Palestinian civilians.

Sure, but the Israeli government and IDF are fucking monsters. I’m not going to give a pass to one side killing civilians just because the other side is doing it, too.

That depends if there were any valid military targets near the synagogue. If there wasn’t, it isn’t a valid strike target in the same way Israel’s hospital strikes are invalid.

Doesn’t sound like terrorism to me.

Terror is what’s happening in Gaza by Israel.

Israel and Hamas can both be assholes at the same time. You don’t have to pick a side.

It’s easier to morally justify suicide bombing than it is to argue that it’s an effective military tactic.
