have thrown herself into consideration for secretary of state or defense secretary

What a moron! Whatever makes her think she would even be considered?

Within eight years, Gabbard has moved from being an ally for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign to a Democratic presidential candidate to a right-wing influencer who has filled in as a host on Tucker Carlson’s former Fox News show,

That kind of change can sometimes be caused by a tumor or other forms of brain damage. I’m not saying that to scorn her, but it’s a very dramatic change, that could be down to some sort of brain trauma.

But of course she may also be just an opportunist, in which case she is more likely a sociopath.
For sure she is not a normal functioning person.

I had a friend that went from voting for Sanders in the 2016 primary to Trump in the general. I will never understand it. I tried for awhile. We’re no longer friends.

They are both considered populists but with radically different policies targeting different “enemies of the people.” It just so happens that one side thinks the enemy is anyone who is not a white straight Christian male.

Some people don’t actually care what the policies are, they just want someone to blame and follow whoever they think is fighting for them. It’s nuts but large number of American’s don’t do any basic political research and vote by gut feeling.

I can understand falling for populist rhetoric. Understand the idea of some Outsider coming in and shaking up the system being appealing. What I can’t ever understand is who the hell in their right mind thought Donald Trump of all fucking people would fight against corruption. That’s just so far beyond the pale of anything anyone has ever known or experienced from him. I don’t know how people fell into that trap. I believe it if almost any other person except him. It will never makes sense as long as I live.

I think you’ll find Trump’s cabinet should he take power will be full of people who wouldn’t pass the background check to be a janitor at the Pentagon.

Wait, I thought she was just more leftist-than-thou. So leftist that all of us “centrists” just couldn’t understand and any Russian affiliations she might have were entirely illusory.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Gabbard, who has reportedly met with the Trump campaign in recent months, was asked on the Wisconsin-based radio show The Regular Joe Show on Thursday whether there was “one thing” she could do that “would be serving the country in the best way possible” if Trump is elected president.

Within eight years, Gabbard has moved from being an ally for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign to a Democratic presidential candidate to a right-wing influencer who has filled in as a host on Tucker Carlson’s former Fox News show, making appearances at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound.

After leaving Congress and the Democratic Party, Gabbard has been a frequent guest on right-wing media platforms and at the Conservative Political Action Conference, sandwiched between speeches from far-right personalities and elected officials.

Last week, while promoting her book For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind, Gabbard told supporters in California that she would be “honored” to be named Trump’s running mate.

Gabbard, an independent, hasn’t ruled out formally joining the Republican Party.

“I never say never,” she told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this week while traveling across Wisconsin to promote her book.
