Yup. NVIDIA was able to pull ahead simply through brute force. Sure they ran hot and consumed a lot of power but that was negligible when they were doubling performance every generation.

Variable Valve Timing has come a long way. More efficiency = more power with the same/less displacement.

Microsoft and Apple are destroying innovation, and have so for decades. It’s what monopolies and oligopolies do. We need a phone with an open-source publicly funded platform that doesn’t gatekeep development.
