I just have watched the first few episodes of the anime and I thought it was extremely milquetoast (tbf teenage romance isn’t interesting to me but I appreciatte the old school artstyle). They didn’t show the octopus thing as it was in the manga but I got the joke. “Raunchy” definitely isn’t the word that comes to mind. I thought The Summer Hikaru Died was a bit more so. But then I’m old and I’ve seen some shit.

Laitoit /s, mutta et sikäli ole väärässä. Todellisuuden ja asioiden hyväksyminen sellaisena kuin ne on vähentää huomattavasti sitä kärsimyksen ja huuman välistä sahaamista. Vähemmän odotuksia, vähemmän pettymyksiä, enemmän tyytyväisyyttä siihen mitä on. Me ei ehkä olla “iloisinta” kansaa, me vaan ei olla jatkuvasti masentuneita siitä, että asiat eivät ole just täydellisesti niin kuin me halutaan. Helpompi siis vastata fiilis kyselyihin, että kaikki on “ihan ok”.

Tosin ei lähdetä sivuttamaan meidän edelleenkin verrattain hyvää valtion antamaa sosiaalista turvaa jne.

Mielestäni eri näkemysten opettaminen olisi helvetin tärkeää. Vanhemmat saa sitten ihan itse kotona opettaa omaa uskontoaan, jos niin haluaa, mutta julkisen koulun pitäisi opettaa tasa-arvoisesti vähän kaikkia eri näkemyksiä. Ja ennen kaikkea antaa työkaluja niiden henkisten opetusten ymmärtämiseen. Samalla voisi myös opettaa Suomen muinaisuskonnosta ja Kalevalasta (niin pitkälti kuin nyt mahdollista). Siinä voi kaikki sitten vanhetessaan ajan kanssa miettiä ihan itse, löytyykö sieltä jotain merkityksellistä.

Ihan liian moni aikuinenkin nykyään kuvittelee, että jos joku puhuu vaikka “henkisyydestä”, on väkisinkin kyseessä suurin piirtein Kristillisyys ja usko asioihin, joita ei voi todistaa. Mikä aiheuttaa lähinnä myötähäpeää, jos on vähääkään perehtynyt uskontoihin ja ymmärtää niiden hyvinkin suuria eroja. Itse olen vähäniiku (Zen) Buddhisti, ja omaan harjoitukseen nimenomaan kuuluu kaiken kyseenalaistaminen. Mutta jotenkin aika moni on valmis ilmoittamaan mulle, että uskon yliluonnollisiin asioihin jne. koska koulussa ei ole muuta opittu.

I don’t know about that. Many artists are too preoccupied trying to figure out how to conceptualize their experience, which is exactly the opposite of seeing reality.

I’m all for internet “dying”. Let it become a hostile environment filled with garbage and ads on the mainstream social media level. Hopefully people will get fed up with it and focus on real life again. Leave the dark corner of weird interfaces, console commands and modifications to nerds.

I’m just surprised that it seems relatively cheap. Not to me personally, mind you, but I would expect something like this that’s actually decent quality to cost somewhere more like 100k.
