Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you guys think of the reddit alternatives?
3·2 months agoPlease excuse my ignorance, but should I change instances then? To one instance that it’s federated with more other instances? To Hexbear.net or something? I know my account is old but I only really started using Lemmy after I got banned on reddit a few weeks ago

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anyone else scared of how fast AI is advancing?
23·2 months agoYour answer seems to be regarding large language models and the possibility of them replacing human workers, which, to be clear, is fine and all but I was talking about ai in general.
For example, seedance is so much better than sora, veo and the like.
Recently, with the release of Open Ai’s new image model I have seen how hard it is to tell they are ai generated. Youtuber Dan Dingle made a video about it if you wanna see how good it is.
Even people who are supposedly good at spotting ai generated media often mention “vibes” instead of anything concrete when describing why they think something is ai generated.

4·2 months agoNgl, that sounds needlessly complicated. Anyway, thank you for your answer.

5·2 months agoI’m new to this whole “federation” thing. When I joined Lemmy I just followed a guide where it said it made no difference which instance I made my account in. Is that not true?

Game Development@programming.dev•I made a three.js game about keeping a water bottom upside down
3·4 months agoFor mobile users: please decrease the sensibility to around 0.2.
For those interested on how I made the game:
I have always wanted to make an arcade game like Tetris, space invaders and pac man. You know, games that are simple but can be replayed forever?
But the idea of a game about keeping a pendulum upside down only came up when I saw a video of a robot doing it. It was a car and it moved to the left and right so that the pendulum never got too close to falling.
The hardest part was the ui. I’m very bad with ui for some reason Maybe I’m just bad with css.
In order to make it a little more than just a bottle in front of a black screen I needed to add backgrounds, so I learned how to program a shader with the website shadertoy.
Making shaders is surprisingly easy and fun, although I struggled at first.
That’s about it.

Omg, thank you so much!
