@CEOofmyhouse56 @Seagoon_ yes. I’ve gradually purchased increasingly expensive jam to avoid this effect, and I’m now at small batch super premium jam or annual stockpiling of the Yamba CWA stall jam when we holiday there.
@CEOofmyhouse56 that’s time dependent. If I’m not supervising one kid’s math tuition, helping kid 2 with homework, and getting dinner on the stove at the same time as unpacking the shopping bags into the kitchen cupboards, then they get folded.
@CEOofmyhouse56 @Llabyrinthine shove all bags into a couple of freezer bags, zip those up & place them in a spot where I’ll try over them next time I’m heading to the car.
Ideally, throw them in next time I head to the car.
@TuxOfStars @bot001 I aim for three and if things go wrong two is still ok
@T156 @fullkitwanker this.
Better go with something much healthier and flavoursome than something even healthier but bland and boring.
@fullkitwanker @bot001 something that helped me was nuts. Not just as a snack but consciously eaten at specific times, in particular between meals early in the day.
@baconmash thanks - I might try brown sugar and a spot of fresh black pepper
@baconmash good tips thanks - will grab ingredients this week and give it a try… I am not a ginger fan at all… if I reduce the quantity of ginger a bit can you suggest anything to fill in the flavour gap?
@baconmash @just_kitten I’ll substitute vegetarian oyster sauce and give that a try
@Iamthematt @bot001 Your profile doesn’t indicate which city you’re in
Edit: Ah, the linked post on the toot you replied to does.
@danwritesbooks @bot001 $50k below asking is a great starting offer if you’re willing to go up a bit imo.
@heyheyitskay yeah the sandwich is the “punishment for not thinking ahead” option 😉
@heyheyitskay @bot001 as a contractor I get some contracts where breakfast logistics are “eat on the go”.
I like:
Hard-boiled egg with a little salt (you can wrap it in tinfoil then use the tinfoil to hold the eggshell until it can be disposed of)
Banana
Muesli bar (home made, moist)
Sandwich with no loose bits e.g. peanut butter, honey, mashed banana sticks together pretty well

I have posted about this before. I feel guilty about the packaging and the waste and the laziness… but damn sometimes it’s the difference between eating healthy-ish, and eating junk.
Yes I have a rice cooker, yes I know how to use it. I don’t care, in my busy life with kids and job and housework, 2-minute rice can be a lifesaver.
@RustyRaven Fair points. Hafta admit I forgot it wasn’t also a ban on novating gas equipment in homes already connected to municipal gas.

“what are the low hanging fruit that are quick wins and generate a cost to consumers but an opportunity for appliance manufacturers and installers”
@georgetakei@universeodon.com I mean my first reaction is “complaining lady clearly has NFI how much more pleasant her flight probably was, with the sound machine rather than a constantly screaming baby”.
Edit: but having said that, feeling like you can just bring a sound machine on a plane does seem very entitled
