Slavery, the trail of tears, the Chinese exclusion act, and internment camps, as well as meddling in other countries’ elections, drone strikes, and border camps aren’t exactly pro-democracy, let alone gerrymandering and voter suppression that have been prevalent in poor and minority communities since they were first allowed to vote.
