Oh it’s only for the first time it sells as used? I feel like that’s going to make purchasing even more confusing since people are gonna go in assuming every 20k ish EV will qualify and then end up getting screwed somehow.

things will get interesting once we can have fairly reliable EVs with 250-300mi range for sane prices.
I’m kinda curious how things shake out in the 20-30k range given the $4k used car tax rebate. It’s income limited and you can’t use it for private sales, but if a $25000 EV can be had for $21000, does that devalue the used car value or increase it?
Given equal pricing this would have been a deal breaker for me too. That said, general interior of the car felt plush as hell for me even on standard trim since I’m moving up from a 2010 Prius. In general I don’t touch things once I’m actually moving anyway so considered it a minor gripe that I can live with for a significantly lower price.
It’s funny how quickly people are to dismiss biking as “too dangerous,” regardless of the reality in the area. Without a doubt there are locales where it’s truly an invitation to get yourself killed, but I live in a small “Gold” bike friendly city and used to commute 14mi to an adjacent city that’s rated “Bronze.” Other than a single narrow bridge I had constant access to 6-10ft of shoulder, yet most people I talked to mentioned that it’s crazy. With an ebike that commute wasn’t much slower vs if I was driving, and I basically recouped the cost of my bike within the first 6-9mo of riding depending on how you considered depreciation if I was driving that route instead.
Is the functionality of the Autel not dependent on a wifi connection? Both Chargepoint and Autel qualify for rebates at my local utilities, the Chargepoint seems more solid hardware wise but I don’t need a bricked unit or one that’s dependent on the company still existing to provide power to my car.
Scary part is that low miles may not mean anything. Just looking through owner groups and such there’s a not insignificant group that just charges to 100% all the time, and you very well could have a low mileage car that’s just been at 100% all the damn time because it could be.
