Ok fair. Two 120V rails in series would supply 240V but I think the dangerous part comes from the ‘also’ and that’s where an electrician would come in and turn this from ‘just a breaker’ to rewiring your house.

I just don’t think it’s safe to say ‘yes just add a 240V breaker and plug it in’ which appears the OP may be at their with level of understanding.
You’re equating 120+120 = 240 and while that works in math, it does not work in alternating current voltage.
One of these should do what you’re looking for. Each has a slightly different approach.

It sounds like you’re looking for intrusion detection or prevention rather than antivirus.

However it’s likely that these do not run on asuswrt-merlin out of the box and may require additional setup or hardware.
You may even be good enough by using the built in firewall on the router interface and making sure no ports are open/forwarded.
But, why?
ClamAV is a scanning engine that uses a database and heuristics to detect an infection.
