  • I think showing tracker info is still a good, insightful thing. Sure, giving an impression one piece of software is better than another because it has less trackers is a bad thing. Users that care about functionality will vet apps on that regard, same with security and privacy conscious users. Some users just like the app to be pretty, and if they ignore everything else but make a decision based in tracker count, all the better in the long run.

    We run all AI locally, offline (as in iptables blocked). Screw data collecting tech giants. We encourage our kids to use our LAN “chatbot” service. Right now it uses a popular model abliterated (guardrails removed, realize its not the best, want to switch when unfiltered models get better).

    Guess what, I’m the parent and can help teach my kids right from wrong. Don’t need you doing that for me, big tech. Information doesn’t make kids dumb, censorship does.

    They must also send alerts if a teen attempts to bypass or disable parental controls.
