I love going out of the city of a night, and navigating the backroads of the mountains that I live at the base of. It makes for something of a mixture between cruising, and a bit of spirited motoring (within reason, of course).

Relaxed drive out of town, scored by some slow tracks, and then hustling it up a twisty section or two. If it’s clear out, then there are a few places to stop and take in a lovely view, of both the starlight, and the city beneath. Have struck up some nice conversations with many a motoring enthusiast doing the same thing after hours.

The seats, window motors, door speakers, and wiper all go

On my car’s home subreddit, r/GolfGTI, there are occasionally people who do rear wiper deletes, to wildly mixed reception. Kind of boggles the mind that Toyota of all companies is this committed to the bit.

In any case, I’m glad that this thing exists. Spoke to some bloke at a car show the other week who just bought a regular GR Corolla, and from what he said, it really seems like a joyous little car. Would love to give it or the Yaris a go one day.

I wonder if there’s a fundamental flaw with these engines that seems to exacerbate this issue.

Just about direct injected engine nowadays can be susceptible to oil dilution, but this Honda 1.5T is the one we seem to hear about most commonly being affected by it.
