Given that these are on the edge of the roof I have three theories (both things that happened to myself before):

1. Automated carwash brushes can scratch the car up like that, especially on edges.
2. Vaccum cleaners. The ones that hang from a holder above, tend to rub up agains the edges of the roof while you (or the staff at the carwash) use it, makes scratches exactly like those ones
3. Tree or a bush you drove “through”/under. Low hanging branches can easily scratch paint like that

Competition is good for the consumer, a monopoly is only good for the company (Apple in this case).
