EDIT: I’m interested in how a free Palestine would play out in terms of what that would mean for women, gays, children, people of non-muslim religions, in terms of personal freedoms, etc.
The basis of this question is Zionist because it implies things would get worse for gay Palestinians, Palestinian women, and non-Muslim Palestinians. All of these populations are currently either under military occupation or in exile, banned from entering any of historic Palestine. They may experience oppression or marginalisation based on these identities, but all of them additionally are under Zionism’s boot as Palestinians. When they are no longer oppressed for being Palestinian, it will be much easier for them to seek liberation along the other lines they are oppressed, such as gender, sexuality, and religion.
As for religion, some Palestinian parties are specifically Islamic, some are explicitly secular. It would be hard to say, but right now we are seeing very strong unity between the different Palestinian factions, including e.g. explicitly Islamic factions strongly condemning the attacks on Palestinian churches. Hamas, an Islamic party, is in alliance with the PFLP, which was founded by a Palestinian Christian and is explicitly secular. From what I can see, religion doesn’t seem to be a hugely dividing line among the Palestinian factions, and I hope that will continue to be the case when Palestinians begin the process of recovering from Zionism and establishing a long-term state.
In any case, Hamas, one of the most influential explicitly Islamic Palestinian factions, is also explicitly supportive of religious tolerance in its charter, and envisions a Palestinian state in which people are free to practise their own religions. I am hopeful that the current religious unity we can see will continue after the fall of Israel.

That’s fair. I just use it because it’s what everyone’s on. When I used Briar only one other person I spoke to used it, and I just use Matrix for some more techy communities I’m in. For my friends and non-tech-savvy comrades, they’re all on Signal, and I imagine trying to move people to something more decentralised/more in the spirit of foss/etc would lead to my social circles becoming very split in terms of how I talk to them. But I get your point.
I don’t know the mental capacity of OP’s mother, but if she can consent to this, I don’t see a problem with what is essentially a patient deciding to film themselves in their own room. And if she’s not capable of consenting to this, I’d say that OP’s suggestion to install a hidden camera in her room is pretty unethical.
For private messaging? Signal was always better. The way I use Telegram, and the way Telegram should be used, is like another public social media. I use it for following channels that give news about things I’m interested in.
Your friends who use spying social media platforms can share them there, if it’s a public blog. And if none of your target audience (friends and family) use Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc then there’s no need for them to be shared on those platforms?
Also, ime from when I had to use Facebook because of a group I was in, the group was very resistant to any privacy advice. I think the vast majority of people on these platforms are on those platforms specifically because they don’t care.
OP is installing the OSes on separate disks. The common disk is for user data, not for the OS.
OP isn’t trying to parse HTML though… they are trying to detect opening xml tags. Which seems quite achievable with regex.
I think blocking roads and publicity stunts are ineffective, but there’s plenty of actually effective stuff you can do, like tree spiking or sabotaging oil infrastructure. I don’t really care if people want to block roads or throw soup at paintings but I don’t think it’ll achieve much. I guess better than doing nothing. But with the draconian punishments people are getting in various countries for this sort of protest, it really doesn’t seem worth it when you could do something that’s also criminalised but actually directly does something to prevent climate change.
Personally I don’t like how a lot of the XR-related groups are so ideologically wedded to nonviolence, to the point where they condemn and actively oppose others on the left they deem “violent” (which is usually just racialised people who acted in self-defence at a protest). I see that as a bigger problem than ineffective protests, because they’re actively withholding solidarity from those who should be aligned with them.
