Alright, I’m gonna fire off a bunch of games for a variety of systems:
NES
SNES
N64 Imma be real with u fam. I don’t care for the N64. Don’t get me wrong it had some great titles, but most have aged like room temperature chicken. Mario 64, banjo Kazooie and the Zelda games are probably the best aged
Playstation 1
I’ve seen someone play a bit of it. It defo fills the vibe. I should play it sometime
From the hard drive it actually loads faster even on a physical hard drive. On an SSD it is even better and completely silent, however I have had little problem with noise from the HDD. As for the disc thing it is better for PS2 games as it doesn’t wear out the laser. For PS1 I use cds so it boots into the PS1 CPU because I think OPL uses POPstarter to emulate PS1. As is the fat PS2s use the PS1 CPU for I/O so the only part it emulates is the graphics chip.
Let’s find out
EDIT: OK so this is literally twin peaks for the Playstation good graphics tho. Will play further.
EDIT 2: OK so I’ve played about a half hour worth. It’s an interesting mystery adventure game with very clear twin peaks inspirations. The game is also very ambitious for the PS1. There is moving traffic and pedestrians. You have a ton of detail and the framerate suffers for it. On a fat ps2 running from cd it avgs maybe 10 fps in the downtown area. Additionally it has some very stiff tank controls. Like in Resident Evil or silent hill you can slide off walls when you run into them but this game you get stuck and need to stand and turn. If you are a fan of mystery, adventure games, or twin peaks then I think this is a game you should play. Otherwise I don’t know if I’d recommend it.
