hardware hacking, it feels like you are trying to solve a weird puzzle in which sometimes even the dumbest things may work, and at the end you have a device you can do whatever you want with.

i can see though why people may find it tedious.

I’ve tried to get into ham radio, but there is basically no one certified in my country, the closest place i can get certified is 270 km away… it’s not fun if you are basically speaking to yourself.

how to harvest produce, my town is surrounded from farmland, so we learned how to harvest everything from tomatoes to maize, from lemons to turnips

Electronics and basically anything that involves electricity, i just love to find out how broken stuff works and fixing it, or just making stubborn equipment do what it’s supposed to do; so yeah basically some people do crosswords, i make 1 working tv from 2 broken ones :-)

i genuinely have a pc with a 30 cm fan from a welder bolted to a hole in the side of the case, it runs at 240v and it’s one of the loudest things i own, but at least i passed from being continuously thermal throttling to running at a reasonable temperature…
