Electronics and basically anything that involves electricity, i just love to find out how broken stuff works and fixing it, or just making stubborn equipment do what it’s supposed to do; so yeah basically some people do crosswords, i make 1 working tv from 2 broken ones :-)
i genuinely have a pc with a 30 cm fan from a welder bolted to a hole in the side of the case, it runs at 240v and it’s one of the loudest things i own, but at least i passed from being continuously thermal throttling to running at a reasonable temperature…

hardware hacking, it feels like you are trying to solve a weird puzzle in which sometimes even the dumbest things may work, and at the end you have a device you can do whatever you want with.
i can see though why people may find it tedious.
