Buy it for Life@slrpnk.net•Looking for a good variable speed hand mixer in the statesEnglish
6·8 days agoI got a Braun HM5100 six or so years ago. Use it at least twice monthly and it’s still as good as the day I bought it. It’s variable speed on a dial, not a switch, so you can bring up or down the speed with much more control.

Ask Experienced Devs@programming.dev•Has your company lost its mind with AI, too?
43·17 days agoYep. Big healthcare, same thing.
It’s like they don’t realize that AI at best is as good as having a mailroom full of overeager interns. Who in their right mind would want to put in front of clients?! Or worse have it run critical business systems.

2·25 days agoWhy do you think they’re buying so much AI shit right now? To filter through the shit for whatever they want to find. People aren’t the bottleneck anymore.

Nah. Power is just the potential to do work. Clever electrical engineering just takes advantage of the teensy pushes and pulls to do that work. Like pushing a swing, I don’t move but my kid sure can go high when I apply those pushes and pulls at the right time.

9·3 months agoI spun up immich on my computer and it does basically everything you’re asking for. Its duplication detection is pretty good, but definitely tweak the parameters so you don’t get too many false positive matches.
Oh buddy if only my setup was simpler. Between Ubuntu and Snap and external NTFS hard drives, I’ve got work to do to get this working.
With the exception of Jellyfin for me for some reason.
Will and Grace. Late 90s but still counts

It’s like the best way to prevent police brutality and murder: simply make them individually liable for damages and require them to carry insurance for it. Bad actions make you uninsurable, and the rest of your department more risky (expensive).
