Stop giving bombs for genocide and stop telling people that the economy is already great so they should not ask for more and instead give popular policy positions that help people more than a week before the election/after early voting.

My moms’ voted for Trump I suspect and they’re avoided voting for Republicans for a long time because of homophobia. One of them would ask things like “do you think a woman can be president” and would talk about how great she thought the stock market would do under trump. They just retired, so their well-being is now a lot more dependent on the value of their 401k than before though, so it might just be that rather than broader trends. Otoh, I’ve also seen her listening to like 30+ minute snakes salesman things on Facebook and be seriously believing of the obvious scam.
I’d love to go away from this country and especially from this state. Probably should have done it back when Biden announced he was running for a second term.
Kamala was less popular as VP among democrats than Trump was as president among republicans. Yeah. Trump is awful. Unfortunately he has a base of awful people who favor that. Emulating that behavior doesn’t make someone popular among people who’d vote democrat.
How could anyone with a heart vote for someone openly defend unconditional support for mass murder of children?
If you only oppose genocide when the politician is nice to you, you’re not a leftist.
Not sure who you are talking about here. People who refused to vote for genocide regardless of the candidate aren’t conditionally against genocide: that’s the people voting for Harris. The same people who told trans people to shut up for pointing out the record lack of representation or support by the Harris campaign compared to other recent campaigns. Those aren’t people who are going to do anything to protect trans people. They just wouldn’t actively target them, so at least blue states would be relatively safe unlike what we got.
Harris threw the election. The Harris campaign is responsible for their own campaign and the DNC is responsible for picking such an historically unpopular candidate for their candidate without even getting input from voters.
Americans just weren’t convinced that Harris would do anything to improve their economic situation.
Why would they? She never proposed anything specific AFAIK except like 1 week before the election after early voting was already over. If she hadn’t avoided taking any policy positions except unconditional aid to israel, lower proposed tax rates for the rich than even Biden was proposing, continued fracking, no improvements to healthcare, and more lethal military/border while avoiding talking about abortion for months, maybe people would have reason for some hope for improvement.
How many Americans know about proposals about things like tax credits for parents or plan to expand medical care coverage under medicare (or was it medicaid?) to at-home care except the small percent who follow that kind of news.
I sincerely hope there is a future election where they have learned something from this. In the mean time, good luck everyone.
Given you’re expecting an apology instead of giving one, nothing was learned apparently.
Did McCain vote for Trump?
They’re going to die if they don’t pack up their entire lives and never see their family again
Hopefully that’s hyperbolic. Not saying its impossible (my state in particular has been building databases of trans people and definitely not for trans people’s benefit). Unfortunately, there’s a sizable chunk of the population who wanted trans people to suffer more.
They thought Harris was going to win.
Its a campaign that has been running on “fuck you, we don’t need your vote” messaging from day 1 towards some of its most loyal voting demographics. The fact that some where projecting it to be even been close was a miracle and was based on a great overestimation of turnout. Its not like Trump did significantly better than 2020.
But he insulted others. He hardly was as vitriolic towards his base demographic.
Spending the first like 2 months campaigning on how she doesn’t care about certain demographics’ vote (primarily arab and college-age voters, and avoiding any popular policy discussion (only focusing on ways they were shifting further right) until the week of election probably didn’t help. Trump got the majority of 1st time voters this cycle. Biden got 64%.
And, just like her campaign, her voters did little but try to insult people. What a surprise… insulting people doesn’t convince people to vote for you or your candidate.
But I mentioned that and the fartographer said “No”.
Why would middling underperformers be willing to pay $1000’s for a job that pays worse than for the same job but paying more? You think that lady would have said “no, I don’t want this job anymore because the pay increased”?
If it paid better, wouldn’t more people try to bribe their way into the job? Granted, they’re have more real competition for the jobs, so just getting certified might not be good enough to get a job.
Its only a crime if you make it a crime. Not saying the courts should be deciding that; election law should. If the system is designed to just not double count votes and use whatever the last cast ballot says, then there’s no issue with casting another ballot, so why should it be a crime to cast 2 or 3 ballots?
The ridiculously nerdy explanation is comedy itself
Even if he did get a second ballot and casted it, that should be on the system to deal with. As long as there’s not attempted fraud (ie: impersonating another person/fake ID, multiple identities, etc). Voting a second time could also just be an attempt to change your vote and invalidate the original ballot as well and now that digital systems are widespread, it would be a relatively easy thing to do.
The basic idea seems to be that it should be pretty similar to reddit, but with federation. Definitely still seems to have its own separate character though. And different instances have their own unique cultures, some more differentiated than others.
I would make less sense because then you would think he’s saying 9 out of 10 different doctors recommend against it, ruining the punchline.
They already had 9 more seats than dems and net flipped is 4 towards Republicans, think its pretty safe to guess which party will have a majority. Just a matter of how much.
