I actually don’t like all the buttons non-Tesla’s have. It looks too cluttered to me. I always say to run your current car as far as you can though. Just buying a new car, even an EV is just not worth it if you have a perfectly functioning car you are currently using.

Just make sure you have insurance that covers you in MX. And prepare to drive very defensively because driving in TJ is like driving bumper cars. I would park the car securely state side and walk across. You could even take the trolley to the border and walk across.
