Good grief! The shop I work for would only charge ~$800 for that!

Check the wheel speed sensors. A broken wire, excess metal on the sensor, or even a bad tone ring can screw with the ABS system.
NTK and Denso are best for a Nissan. That said, verify the wiring first. Unplug the sensor. The car should toss codes for B1S1 Voltage high, heaters etc. If it does, then sensor is the issue. If it doesn’t, look for a short in the wiring. A “low voltage” code typically indicates a short to ground, whereas a “voltage hi” code usually indicates a short to battery or an open(broken) circuit.
Hope this helps
Did you replace the slave cylinder too? BTW, it wouldn’t hurt to either vacuum bleed or pressure flush the system. Last time I had that issue, it was due to a hidden bubble. Only way I got it out was with a vacuum bleeder.
A weak fuel pump can be to blame. If it’s not maintaining at least 30 psi to the engine, the gas can vapor lock in the lines from the heat from the engine. Once it cools off, the vapor condenses, collapsing the bubble and allowing fuel flow again, for however brief a time before the engine heats up again.
I don’t recommend that, No
