My wife wanted a bigger car (Bolt EUV) since our kids weren’t fitting so well into the Fiat 500e now that the oldest was in middle school. Second reason is I wanted more range. We did 80%+ of our driving in the Fiat, and I really wanted that closer to 95%.
Top reason we bought the Fiat 500e was environmental followed by drastically reduced maintenance. I’m too cheap to pay someone to change my oil, but annoyed with always doing it myself (and then having to drive the oil to get disposed of). Not to mention the front axle I had just replaced, the brake jobs, valve cover gasket etc…
I was listening to Car Talk reruns from the 90’s and they were talking about a tactic where the salesperson would say comment that the shopper’s name was the same as their wife’s name. “Oh, your name’s Laura, that’s amazing, my wife’s name is Laura!”
