The higher purchase price of a similar Solterra over an Outback buys a lot of gas. I calculated the breakeven point as being about 11,000 miles per year, which is more than twice what I put on my car. At my 5k miles per year, it would take over 20 years to make up the difference. So I bought the Outback a few months ago. It is what it is.
