Yet another “AI bad” post that I can’t replicate. Not that I’m defending Google, they’ve been shit ever since they removed “do no evil” from their strategy, but this is silly. It takes two seconds to verify the top auto generated result when you search something, you literally just have to scroll to the second and third results. If you just take the autogenerated answer (I’m feeling lucky?) without doing any verifying then someone failed you when it comes to doing online research. And for what it’s worth, within hours of this issue being discovered, it was corrected by the same system that made the erroneous claim in the first place.
Troll harder
The White House said those granted clemency received disproportionately longer sentences than they would have under current laws and policies.
In a statement, Mr. Biden said those receiving clemency have shown “they are deserving of forgiveness and the chance at building a brighter future for themselves beyond prison walls.”
All told, Mr. Biden pardoned 11 individuals and commuted the sentences of five others, saying the move reflects his commitment to “addressing racial disparities and improving public safety.”

I’m getting so tired of the pessimists who are against AI. Granted, I can reflect and see my own similar attitude towards Trump: no matter what, I would never vote for him considering his history and who he is as a person. But treating the next generation of technology feels different than that to me; AI is the future, it’s the next revolution. Sure, there are several real issues to criticize and question (copyright, compensation, hallucination come to mind) but instead shit here on Lemmy just gets downvoted to hell with no explanation. I know this comment will get downvoted, but I just wish we could have a discussion about the future without shutting down every practical comment wanting to talk about it.
Thank you. Lemmy is a very unique kind of echo chamber, and I often seem to say things that aren’t exactly the “right” opinion.
What a weird little coward
On the one hand: yes. Fuck Russia, they initiated this conflict, and retaliation against your aggressors should be at least proportional if not moreso.
On the other hand: I have a lot of trepidation about escalations of conflict. WWIII feels very possible with the current instability between Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Palestine, and every increase in violence edges us closer. I don’t think we’re at the same risk level as we were at the height of the cold war, but we’re close.
The question is how do we minimize loss of life while maximizing justice. The first consideration is objective, the second is subjective. I don’t have a good answer, and I don’t know how allowing Ukraine to show full force will impact either. War sucks
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the succinct explanation
I don’t expect you to have the answers, but is the ISS nearing end of life because of technology, or because of gravitational pull? If it’s the latter, how feasible would it be to attach rockets and drag it further away?
I’m literally reinforcing what the article is saying. Pretty spineless of you to call me names and then immediately block me.
The point of the article is outrage over children being forced to expose themselves. Pretty creepy of you to defend the practice
What a weird hill to die on
Like I said, they just hate AI here. It’s pretty amusing
Idk liquor works pretty well and is already a booming industry
Idk, it feels metaphorical from a tangential point of view
