  • All I can tell you is first-hand experience with Matt Farah. My 12-year-old son and I drove up to see Matt begin at tire rack in South Bend Indiana for the one lap of America. Son and I happen to bump into Matt and just say hi because we had seen him on the car show.

Didn’t know him before that really much. Just got a selfie with him, and said thanks. He said hey wait a second he goes why don’t you just hang out with us until we head out? So that was pretty cool. Nice enough guy.

  • Variety.

I think it’s easiest to say what you don’t like.

You don’t like driving around other people that put those around them at risk. Often that is in areas of low quality drivers. Frankly, I find them in US America, particularly commuting situations in dense urban areas.

Likewise, pedestrians and other people that try to share the road such as bicyclist when they encroach your only possible pavement/tarmac areas in such a manner that you are forced to divert your intended progress. So people that walk into intersections, or even jaywalk at parts of the road that aren’t intersections; bicyclist that , they themselves don’t pay attention to the rules of the road.

  • I used to drive a 1996 Dodge Caravan as a daily driver until a few years ago. Back when commuting existed for me. I would attend Car events all over the place and in those events lots of manufacturers let you drive their cars. I always said once everybody was launched, graduated from college, and on their way, I would get a fun car.

The final two family members graduated with their degrees at the beginning of this year.

I wouldn’t call it a dream car, but I would call it attainable and slightly aspirational. Corvette C8.

From the list above that others put before me, I can tell you that I’ve been in the 911 GT 3 RS on a naval base runway up to 180 mph. I’ve also driven the Lexus IS 500, I just toured McLaren headquarters in woking UK. Also, just rented a 911 convertible from Porsche Stuttgart, they do that at the museum there, and drove it through Europe, but particularly the Alps. I’ve also noticed that Porsche has some driving events that include the Dakar now, and so you can pay a lot less than it would to own it to be able to drive it. Similar to the Ferrari, kind of the predecessor to it, is the FF. Also have driven one of those at a Ferrari event.

In the end, low and behold, I just bought my 2023 Corvette C8. Still a lot of money, in my opinion. But it was attainable. And I needed to get something before I get too old and decrepit to be able to put it to good use.
