Because they take an hour and a half to charge on the fast chargers. The 2024s are 18 minutes or less.
It has to do with how long they take to charge and how useful they are as a primary car for distance travel.
I just chatter with them and show them the difference. We have a great time trading information about our cars and learning about them.
I always let them know that 350 doesn’t do shit for them, but it means the world to me if it is available. They just don’t know. They don’t want to be rude. They just don’t know.
Until the 2024 model, the id.4 took four times as long to charge. Interiors can be changed to a great extent. Charging times are forever.
Quieter. More comfortable. The tech had matured enough that we found one we liked not built by a megalomaniac with apartheid blood money, it was time to buy a new car for us (15 year intervals) and it has become clear that gas prices are ridiculous. We now spend about $30 per month to fuel our car, less time fueling, and have discovered so many amazing things about this life that we can’t imagine it any other way.
