The tech had matured enough that we found one we liked not built by a megalomaniac with apartheid blood money, it was time to buy a new car for us (15 year intervals) and it has become clear that gas prices are ridiculous. We now spend about $30 per month to fuel our car, less time fueling, and have discovered so many amazing things about this life that we can’t imagine it any other way.

It has to do with how long they take to charge and how useful they are as a primary car for distance travel.

I just chatter with them and show them the difference. We have a great time trading information about our cars and learning about them.

Until the 2024 model, the id.4 took four times as long to charge. Interiors can be changed to a great extent. Charging times are forever.
