From a comment on the GitHub issue:
I personally see no reason why AI-generated contributions should be restricted … What’s needed are strict guardrails and QA infrastructure. From what I can see, the former is covered by the CLAUDE.md …
If a markdown file is considered strict guardrails, I really don’t want to see loose guardrails.

I know, but there’s just so much to sneer at (especially lately).

And here I thought “people being easy to replace with a small shell script” was a joke…

If it’s any consolation, Astral was apparently already funded by our favorite Silicon Valley crypto-fascist and egghead cosplayer, Marc Andressen.

Second, to our investors, especially Casey Aylward from Accel, who led our Seed and Series A, and Jennifer Li from Andreessen Horowitz, who led our Series B. As a first-time, technical, solo founder, you showed far more belief in me than I ever showed in myself, and I will never forget that.

That’s an unfair characterization. I think a lot of those scripts are written in python.

I don’t know why, but it still amazes me how fast some people have went full crackhead with LLM’s:

I can’t see the “reasoning” trace in the link. Do you need to be logged in?

If you have to swim in raw sewage, you shouldn’t blame yourself when some poop gets in your mouth.

You could argue that for example AGPL3 is non-commercial in practice due to the requirements to disclose code. But even then.

Thank you, should have checked that.

Stop the presses. Dude who’s into LLM’s has shit takes about open source software.
Apparently OSS devs that publish under non-commercial licenses are shutting people out?

to say nothing of the violence that necessarily follows a boots-on-the-ground occupation
I doubt there are going to be boots-on-the-ground. Not for any good reasons, just because Trump lacks the commitment (or even capability of commitment).

I love* how the AI stans never get tired of proselytizing.
The result was about 25,000 lines of Rust, and the entire port took about two weeks. The same work would have taken me multiple months to do by hand.
