xDrive still gives you a rear wheel biased power split, I believe 60% rear / 40% front. You can still have fun with it but the best part is not worrying about spinning tires. Gets you off the line much faster. I personally, would want xDrive if there was a chance of driving in the snow.
It’s still surprisingly fuel efficient even when you drive like an a-hole. I was driving fairly inefficiently varying engine loads and RPMs for the break in period and still averaged 27 MPG doing that. If I focus on fuel economy, the number gets much higher. The only thing fuel-wise significantly more expensive than my boring car is having to put in premium.
