AI failed because humans doing the same (bad) work were cheaper when AI stopped being heavily subsidized.

Just think about it, a technology that automates work fails because humans are cheaper. System was not designed around the idea of humans being the cheapest part of the whole and it shows heavily. Humans were supposed to be this endlessly growing consumer base that works expensive jobs and can afford goods cheaply produced by automation. This did not happen. Population growth stagnated and reversed in many countries, humans became the cheapest part of economy while their purchasing power dwindled.

No system in history ever was built on such assumptions. Hell, even democracy assumed that average person works only so many hours, and spends considerable time a week on getting informed about political issues. Currently democracy is just herding overworked tired people into the voting booth and asks them to vote on something they had neither time nor energy to get informed on.

  • There are people who would be elected endlessly thanks to their sheer competence. My town had one such mayor, but opposing party passed country-wide limit to amount of times one can be re-elected.

And I bet americans would love to still have Teddy Roosevelt as their president, especially now, though that might require a bit more than forceful election, a bit of necromancy perhaps.

Horses are amazing eco-friendly solution to most small-scale labor and transportation needs. However, they are also very easy to force out. All you need to do is pay a bunch of dumb animal-protection nuts to constantly protest their use. This is how electric cars operate in my country - by sending horses from work to meat processing.

  • Bollocks, respectfully, bollocks.

Internet from the very conception was built around automation and bots. What wasn’t built around bots is advertising. Quoting this article:

The internet was architected around […] entire world of digital advertising

It only causes problems for big advertisers. Google, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit etc. because if there is one thing advertisers hate more than adBlock is the idea that their clients will stop believing that ads are shown to real humans. Push for digital-ID is not to protect children, it is just another push to convince dumb shareholders that advertising online is still perfectly viable.

  • Oh god.

So swastika (a hindu symbol) got taken by nazis and now nazi colours are taken by anti-nazis.

And everyone still thinks they know definitely what specific symbol/colour/letter symbolizes?

I’m giving up. I’m never correcting anyone on nazis ever again. If someone tells me that rainbow was used by hitler-lovers, I will just accept it as possible.
