I had a trucker come into work today already making excuses for Trump. He was all happy that the Republicans will likely have control of the big 3. Told him that I guess there’s no excuse for any failings then since the democrats won’t have the majority to stop them. They can “fix” the economy. Without missing a bear, he says the democrats are just propping up the economy and it’ll crash again.

Isn’t that how it always is? Republicans fuck it up and leave Dems to fix it? I feel like that’s mostly all the Republicans campaign on.

I was thinking about this today, but I never thought I’d be living through, what I think of, as a major world event. This isn’t a world War (in name), but the history books WILL likely bring up this period on the States. In what manner they’re mentioned, good, bad, or indifferent, is yet to be seen. I imagine grandkids being bewildered when I tell them I lived through this… hopefully.

The SD card is actually a very simple replacement. A few screws and the back plate comes off, then the card reader is a separate board. Ifixit places it at a 10 minute fix. No soldering, no replacing thermal paste. Assuming it’s just the reader and not something in the software, $20 and it’s fixed.

Oh yeah. Got that installed. Was fun because I hadn’t worked with Linux systems before, so finding the proper file locations was a little challenging for myself. Custom characters have post-its and I don’t get the big banner saying it was installed wrong. Even messed with performance settings the deck offers for each game and lowered those since, well, Isaac isn’t exactly the pinnacle of graphics. Even now, just custom characters, alt paths and their additional effects (rain drops, ash, etc) tanks my performance. Unless there’s some magic that I’m not seeing, I’ve tried what I know. It is a little annoying when games that have actual models, and a lot of them at once, don’t have issues at all (Deep Rock Galactic Survivor being a prime example).

I’m in Washington state. Before spring, we were told that we were in a drought due to low snow accumulation. Entire summer had fewer than 5 decent rain falls. I live in a rural area, and the risk of fire terrifies me.
