I think they ‘like’ AI because it’s the promise of how much what they see as ‘redundant’ being done. Unfortunately some people think that’s story boarding, artwork, anything that is creative, and forgetting that so much of the office could be enhanced and improved with ‘AI’.
That’s pretty much business 101 though. It’s almost always cheaper long term to retain employees (especially high performing employees) rather than getting rid of and re-hiring. But when you are at the edge of bankruptcy or can’t afford to keep people (sometimes simply for ‘profit’) then short term it’s a better idea.
Companies are not ethereal, so there are always going to be short term decisions made that hurt long term.
They literally are. Maybe stop asking AI chat bots to answer for you.
I’ve had GrapheneOS for a little bit now, and while it’s great that ‘Google’ has been stripped from it, but the giant warning that you can’t avoid when restarting the phone, so many services simply breaking, it feels a lot like the old days of custom ROMs. Maybe for certain people it can be a daily driver, but goodness it’s difficult to diagnose and fix bugs when it all comes back to Google permissions and services that you really can’t get around.
I mean, you’d probably include Trump, Bush Senior and Clinton in there as well.
I mean, the US is still dealing with the silent generation running the country. It’s going to be a long time before the ‘youngest’ baby boomers are gone, like 20+ years still.
Except the government wanting this information didn’t exist. That’s the future, you ID will be tracked (it already is) and the government will know exactly what you say, where you go, and what you do. Throw it at an ‘AI’ for ‘normalcy’ and you have Minority Report in a much sadder way.
