BMW especially the newer ones with the B series engines (B47 and B48 for 2.0, B57 and B58 for 3.0) are extremely reliable and will last many many years when treated correctly
With that being said, it’s still a 13 yrs old car which you know nothing about, a BMW is a great car when treated correcly but when treated poorly it’s a money pit. You should get a newer BMW imo
In Europe it’s free, or at least I never say an option for enabling it in the configurator
Run flats are made exactly for this, to give you time to drive to the shop to repair it. As long as you don’t drive fast or for a long time you will be fine
So this is due to the fact that most people on this subreddit are from USA, where a car with a 2 liter engine is seen like a shitbox and wouldn’t even sell if it was the only car left in the world.
In the USA BMW is seen as a high end luxury brand that produces only high hp cars and the cars that actually make BMW rich are basically non existent. In Europe most of the BMWs sold have a B47 or a B48, nothing more. B57 and B58 are less common (although I’ve seen many B57 lately) and the S58 or any V8 engine are much rarer, mostly due to taxes and fuel economy
I agree with everything, but the N47, especially the latest models, is absolutely rock solid.
