Ok I see. Thanks for the good work. Hopefully we’ll never have to deal with this again.

I fully support what you are doing but I’m not sure I completely get it. If the attack was against a community on another instance, why do you have to wipe images on this instance? Are images posted on all federated instances stored on the Aussie.zone server?
The Australian equivalent is “a few snags (sausages) short of a barbie (barbeque)”
Reminds me of the “computer” they made using 30 million soldiers signalling to each other with flags in the book the Three Body Problem
I’ve lived near the reserve for about 20 years and I haven’t heard of anyone being bitten by a snake there (although some dogs have, unfortunately). I think accidents could happen but they’d be pretty rare. The snakes here tend to stick to the long grass and near the creek and I think most people have the sense to not go trampling through the grass during snake season.
It also depends on the snake species. Around here we mainly have Eastern browns, which are venomous but timid. In other places in Australia snakes may be more aggressive and accidents are more likely.
It’s even better without the question mark
As a uni student I do both. I generally type notes during lectures and live meetings, and handwrite notes for prerecorded videos and other general study.
I still handwrite because my exams are going to be handwritten and I don’t want to lose my ability to handwrite fast lol.
You can also doodle/draw diagrams when you handwrite. It’s harder to do that on a phone/computer.
I still use pen and paper because it just feels better than handwriting on a screen.
Aussie snakes might be very venomous, but in general they’ll only bite if they’re provoked. I live near a nature reserve full of snakes and it’s not really an issue for most people. Just leave them alone and they’ll leave you alone.
Where does Voyager fit into this?
Thanks!
This is cool! Can you also do Aussie.zone?
Yeah exactly. And it’s not like the buildings they want to demolish are abandoned or little used. Old Microbiology is full of lab/office spaces and Brownless is one of the main hubs of the biomed and science cohorts. I’ve had classes in some of the other buildings as well and they are also frequently used.
Sure it might open up the uni but how will they compensate for the reduction in useable space?
Who is this and what happened?
Interesting! I didn’t realise they were hollow inside. Strangler figs are full of surprises.
I reckon your ID is correct even though the leaves/fruit were too far up to see properly. Thanks!
It looks like a lot more people left Reddit than joined Lemmy or the other Reddit alternatives. I reckon most people who left didn’t actually seek out an alternative and are just spending more time on Facebook/Tiktok/forum sites etc. Or they might be being productive with the time that they would’ve otherwise spent on Reddit lol.
