That WU stun deck is going to be annoying to play against in limited.

There’s a lot going on here. 7 mana over 2 turns to draw 2 and make a 4/4 flyer might be solid. The issue is it doesn’t let you use mana of any color to cast the spells you exile, so you have to generate treasures by attacking or be playing the mirror to use them (or hit spell + a land to cast it). This will feel real bad when you cast the adventure on turn 3, hit two spells you can’t cast, and they answer it before it attacks.

That said, card advantage, a solid body and ramp can be good. I think it’s likely too weak to see play in standard main decks, but could be a strong play out of the board.

I realize food tokens can have more use than just life, but needing to pay more to gain life and attack to draw doesn’t compare well to Krasis despite the +2/+2 to make up for it.

Well that certainly answers a question from the end of RoW. Guess we know who tricked who.

Well, thinking about this more, there’s a slim chance it could combo kill. You’d need two things. First, Vorinclex, Monsteous Raider in play. Second, a repeatable source of paying life. Something like an expensive enchantment with “pay X life: surveil 1”. It’s be a three card combo, but you could drop Ashiok, exile your library until you have mana value in exile equal to or greater than your opponents library size, then ult, mill them out, and they die on draw step.

That said, that’s a lot to ask for. And it’s pretty unlikely we’d get an abusable life paying outlet. You could also do it with some sort of “pay any amount of life” but that’s even more unlikely in standard.

I think you’re right. 5 mana draw a card or 5 mana make, at best, 2 2/2s isn’t ideal. Interesting with phyrexian mana but how often will you be able to play this and another spell in the same turn.

If there is support in set for paying life as a cost, maybe this sees play? But it’d be a lot for the meta to allow a slow PW in a suicide black style deck that also wins by milling.

The Tenni-bator. A guy would approach the tennis courts from the woods in a trench coat and beat his meat to tennis practice. Male or female, if I remember correctly. When they’d try to catch him, he’d disappear into the woods. I don’t think he was ever caught.

It’s good early or late. Dropping a bunch of these is fine to fill a board, but dropping 1 and then replicating your next drop a ton also seems pretty sweet.
