  • gpt-2 could do a better job lol

ok, maybe the gpt-2 one is a bit incoherent, it was from five years ago though

The following is a closing speech in a debate against Kamala Harris by the Republican Donald Trump. "She said she’s going to do lots of wonderful things. Why hasn’t she done it yet? They’ve had 3 1/2 years to fix the border and create jobs. So they do it all the time and when you get down there and you get on the roads and people go, “Well, if you do it in Arizona, it’s not a ____ deal,” it’s no deal," they do it because I really don‴t know if they‴re any better than they are now. I don‴t know what kind of country that would be. So the point is when you say she is going to do it, it has been almost 3 1/2 years, we have lost a job and we have to do it. ____, they have all the money and the wall and they have to pay for it by cutting out millions of jobs. And what happened to us was the problem. These are the people who came over from South America and come here, and we didn’t have the money or the will to do it. Now we are doing this all the time. We don‴t have the economic opportunity to make more money with less taxes. What I mean by that is we have to fix the problem. ____, they haven‴t been doing it. ____, they have spent a lot of money on their projects and they don‴t have the financial means ____ to do that. So it is just a failure on a national level. We got the money, we will go ahead and do it if there are opportunities. But we did not do it because of ____. I mean, we have not got any jobs, no jobs in the United States, no jobs in the world.

Honestly I could imagine Trump saying this

  • Is it better to force poor people to work in farms to survive? In a world where a large number of ‘modern’ westernized countries have active military conscription for young people, I don’t see this as being worse than that, either. The thing with slavery, is that it is lifetime, unpaid, terrible conditions, based on a feeling of superiority, only for the targeted groups, etc.

Of course, the better solution is just to treat farm workers fairly and pay them well, and work on automation at the same time. But rich people were forced to work in farms too, the conditions would probably get a whole lot nicer for everyone involved, and it would probably create a pretty big incentive to start automation as well.

edit: to actually be fine, it would have to be run by the govt. on nationally owned farms, like schools are, for workers to be paid and well treated, and for rich people to not be exempt

I checked the list of 370k english words I downloaded from github a while ago and yeah, its true other than the variants of homeowner (homeowners, homeownership)

I was looking at some other random words, heres some I found:

    • self: weaselfish, damselfish
    • eye: greyer, honeyed, journeyed, etc
    • bear: beard

this got me interested so I wrote a program to find each time a small word bridges the gap between two larger words in a compound word, honestly the funnier part of its outputs is the weird ‘compound words’ its finding, like “asp: aspirating: as, pirating” or “at: deepseated: deepsea, ted” (ted, apparently, meaning ‘to scatter hay for drying’). Occasionally it finds good ones, like “ices: apprenticeship: apprentice, ship” or “hen: archenemy: arch, enemy”, and it did find the meow one. It does allow the small word to contain the first word in a compound word, because that can still give some interesting ones like “warp: warplanes: war, planes”. It probably would have been a lot better if I had actually used a list of compound words, it tries to find its own very slowly which does allow it to find any possible combination for any word

    anyways, here’s the list
