Hello,
My fiance and I are moving into a 1700 SQ Ft home where the wifi to the second floor has been notoriously atrocious. I want to rectify this, while still being able to have my electronics hard wired and having solid wifi throughout the house.
We will be using Xfinity and will be using our own equipment. The router and modem will be on the first floor above the room where my electronics will be. I know I have to upgrade my modem due to being maxed out at 500mbs, but I currently have a N7000 Nighthawk router.
There will be over 12 devices connected to our router at least and that will most likely increase over time.
I know it’s not going to be a smooth transition and I’m pretty capable of of setting up my network. However, I read about using a mesh wifi and having to have two IP adresses, and that I’d like to avoid.
If anyone can offer it, I would like some advice on any equipment, setup and overall tips they may have.
Thank you!
