For anybody not getting this, there was a 4.5 earthquake in NJ today. Earthquakes strong enough to notice are pretty rare in NJ.

    • I was originally born in San Jose and experienced earthquakes a lot in the first few years of my existence, including the big one in '89. I moved into the central valley when I was 5 and only ever experienced a single earthquake there in my 20’s.

A friend who lived in that town his whole life and never been in an earthquake was over at my house and noticed it before I did. He was like “whoa wtf is that?” And right as I was about to say “what was what” the house started shaking and I was like “Oh shit. It’s an earthquake.”

I just stayed in my bed because it was a little baby quake but my friend jumped out of his seat, fell over and scrambled to the door frame while I just laughed because it was really nothing and over before he even reached the door, which was only 3 feet away.
