Marilyn Lands, a Democrat who made reproductive rights a central part of her campaign, wins a special election Tuesday for a state House seat in deep red Alabama.

Lands won 62.31% of the vote with 100% of precincts reporting. Her opponent, Republican Teddy Powell, received 37.50% of the vote.

Lands, a licensed professional counselor lost her 2022 bid for the Huntsville-area seat by nearly 7 points.

Damn right - Women are not without electoral or political power. 👩
