So I just finished a summer long road trip with the family, driving up and down the US (CA, AZ, NV, ID, CO). Any time we stopped at a business (non franchise/corporate), more specifically small businesses, I would ask if they take Bitcoin.
While there were a handful of businesses that said they do, I found the majority of time the response was “Not yet!” or “I want to”. Continuing the conversation and asking variation of “when” or “why not” , the answer 80% of the time was related to their POS system. “When my POS can do it.” Was the most common answer. There was also the handful of businesses that gave the “Absolutely Not!”
Additionally, I noticed of those that did take Bitcoin, or showed interest, were mostly under 50 years old, and those gave a hard no skewed to be over 50.
This is all purely observational.
I was curious how many others do the same thing and what the usual response is, or additional observations you have.
Edit: I know… their, not there. :/
