The new rules will require companies like OpenAI to disclose the data used to train their AI models.
This could be interesting for copyright reasons.
And whether training models is fair use.
Seems like they should wait for evidence of an actual problem before regulation. This just smells like luddites to me. 🤷♂️
On the one hand, it probably should eventually be regulated.
On the other hand, I don’t trust EU’s parliament to even remotely understand technology.
With models being put out daily in the open source community is it even possible to regulate? Just seems like that ship has already sailed and any form of regulation will likely benefit the big businesses that hold the keys to the AI kingdom.
I suspect that they’ll say maybe the models are out there, but how you build a business on them can still be regulated.
