They’ve been extremely hit-and-miss. My wife is still on her px5, and I upgraded from a px3 that I had loved to the original 6, which was atrocious in so many ways. I made the ostensibly lateral move to a galaxy s22 (a free trade-in at T-mobile) after just about 3 months and have been so much happier.

The 6 was absolutely not ready for prime time (bugs) when it launched, and that was a horrendously huge phone to be the smaller one in the line. Hopefully they’ve fixed that with the 7.

I do miss the appearance of that phone’s software. Samsung is definitely way behind on android theming.

Don’t count on it. I had a 3 as well which was a good phone for 3 years until my wife’s 3 died. She didn’t want a pixel 5 at the time because we knew the 6 was coming out in a month or so. So I gave her my 3 and got the S21+. Getting used to the Samsung platform wasn’t too bad. I was upset that I couldn’t delete some apps, but it’s been a good phone to this day. My wife on the other hand got the 6, had nothing but issues for a year, then they had a deal on the 7 if we traded, so we did. She hates the 7 just as much. It even froze once completely and she tried to turn it off and it called 911. The operator almost didn’t believe her that it was an accident. We were legit worried that they’d send someone out because it seemed like she was under duress or something when she just couldn’t get her phone to respond to anything. Needless to say, we’re done with pixels for a while. I’m currently waiting for the fairphone 5 to see if it comes to the US when it comes out. Otherwise I’ll probably get another Samsung eventually. No idea what the wife is going to do.
