I would normally just block and move on but I find it dangerous to allow someone to impersonate someone else on the fediverse (an admin too) and begin starting trouble.

no but if one is an admin of a mastodon instance and someone uses that same name and avatar to create problems that is something that needs to be discussed

That’s not what’s happening. So it’s irrelevant.
I mean there are significant similarities. Email is often used as an existing example when talking about the Fediverse, the username@domain format is basically identical.

I don’t see any claim that this impersonation is actually misleading anybody. OP just seems to be salty that they’re mocking their tankie behaviour and going “but but they’re impersonating someone!”.
