Where do you stand on this, friends? https://www.comicsands.com/anthony-anderson-mom-emmy-speeches-2666971978.html?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=infeed&utm_campaign=linkprogram
@georgetakei@universeodon.com Its all in good fun, I really dont see the problem as long as its done in jest.
What are your thoughts though?

Have you seen what happens at the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony? They have a young child come on stage and say something like “I’m bored. You’re boring.”I’ll see if I can find a clip
@georgetakei@universeodon.com never heard of them. Didn’t watch it. Rather full of themselves.
@georgetakei@universeodon.com Meh, it maybe was set up to go on too long, but it was hilarious. Reminds me of something David Letterman would do.
@georgetakei@universeodon.com Don’t mess with Mama! I thought it was the best hosting team-up in ages!
@georgetakei@universeodon.com Can he do anything besides diabetes commercials without her? Yeah, he did some cop show without her, but there was no room for her either.
When I saw him as host, I asked my partner, “I wonder where mom is. He never does anything without her nowadays.” And pop! There she was in the audience and NOT funny at that.
He needs to drop the mama’s boy routine.@georgetakei@universeodon.com
She’s old enough to know better than heckle people.@georgetakei@universeodon.com
Elder abuse, and an admission of both weakness and that the job was over his head.
@georgetakei@universeodon.com People should keep their speeches short. It’s just good manners.
@georgetakei@universeodon.com It’s something that was probably a decent idea for the first 3-4 people on stage, especially if her heckling were coordinated with their speeches/planned ahead, but it would lose its charm fast.
